    JD2240 Rockshaft Issues

Thanks for the reply Jim, I havent checked the screen or relief valve yet but I am going to. I will change the oil and check them out. I had the manual out yesterday looking at the different adjustments. I just wasnt sure which one I need to focus on.

    JD2240 Rockshaft Issues

Fortunately I only gave about $1500 for the tractor plus a new pump so I can spend some on it without too much regret. I did see Wengers has a used part for $300 Im going to try. Thanks for the input!

    JD2240 Rockshaft Issues

Hey Guys, I have a early model 2240 that has seen some abuse. When I bought it several years ago it was missing the cover for the transmission case fill. The hydraulics wouldnt work very well and it would plug the filter in a few minutes of run time. Turns out the transmission case had a...

    Mounting a Great Bend 440 loader on a JD2240

Actually that does make perfect sense, thanks for taking the time to explain it! The loader brackets that came with the loader have what I would call side frames that wrap around the engine and go from the front to just ahead of the foot rest. Im thinking that should work as long as I have...

    Mounting a Great Bend 440 loader on a JD2240

Thanks for the reply Jim! It was mounted on a JD 5300, it is going to take some fab work to get the brackets to fit my machine. It didnt come with a valve. I have one I salvaged off of a really old loader that was in the junk yard. It was on a JD B, but I dont know if its open or closed...

    Mounting a Great Bend 440 loader on a JD2240

Hi guys, I was hoping to get some advice regarding the install of a loader on my 2240 John Deere. I picked up a really nice Great Bend 440 loader but after looking at it next to my tractor Im not so sure it would be a good fit. My tractor is a row crop model so it is tall enough but Im...

Thank you for the help Jim. The seals were actually quite easy to replace compared with what was shown in the manual!

JD 2240 control shaft seals leaking

Hi Guys, My early model 2240 has leaking load shaft seals and I am wondering if there is a better way to replace them than what my manual would have me believe. I have read some posts that make it sound pretty easy but when I look at the manual it has me remove the left final drive along with...

    Oliver Super 55 hydraulics

I have a 1955 Super 55 that has weak hydraulics on the three point. I was hoping I could get some help troubleshooting the problem. I think it is just a worn pump but was hoping I could get some suggestions for tests that would confirm this. I did take the pump apart and look at the bore that...

    SIP 135 Drum Mower

Thanks for the Info. I did try a Google search. So far the closest dealer I have found is in Canada. This has me somewhat worried. Somebody must sell these things though because it isn't the only one I have seen. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of parts are interchangeable with other brands...

    SIP 135 Drum Mower

Hi everyone, I am contemplating the purchase of a SIP Drum mower to mow 5 acres of grass hay. Does anyone know where to get parts for these units? I don"t want to pick it up unless there is a dealer in the US. I am located in Washington State.
