    SCV Barrel Seals

Hi all, I've got a 620 with SCVs that leak badly enough to address. Does anybody here know where you can get a repair kit for the SCV barrel seals/o-rings? Also, there must be a leak at the control valve for there to be pressure at the barrel at all times. Is there an adjustment for the SCV...

A few days?! That much change in a tractor would take me months!

The Saga of John Deere B 1937 Serial # 32803

Awesome story. The tractor is awesome too! Love the unstyled As and Bs.

Any of you guys GOT YOUR HAY BALED?

Nope. Gotta work on the equipment. Up until recently it was too wet anyway.

    Tractor Prices...

20 seconds? That sounds reasonable. I know of an auction company that adds on 5 minutes on EVERY LOT IN THE SALE if anything is bid on in the last 30 seconds. That goes on for several hours, then they lower the add on time to 2 min, then 1. The auction is usually officially finished 3-5 hours...

Value of underslung exhaust for John Deere 60?

They are extremely rare. I don't know what the market value would be, mainly because I've never even heard of an instance when one was sold, but my best guess would be 3 or 4 times the value of a regular one in the same condition IF its all original. I agree with Tom in Mo. about not putting it...

    3010 John deere

I thought never in my entire life would I hear of the front of a New Gen. tractor getting bashed up. Those plates are enormously thick! I think the thickness is somewhere in the area of 3/8" (could be smaller). If you replace it I hope you are able to find an inexpensive one. My guess is that...

    Diesel vs gasoline

Even though I'm a JD 2-cylinder guy, I'd go with the Super 55. Way cooler. Plus, a Model B would be a little low on power for baling. -John

    Sharpening baler plunger knives...your thoughts

What do you mean by "socket head flats"? Do you have pictures? Interesting that your brother found your pitchfork---I have a slightly similar story. A couple years ago me and my cousin (I figure I was about 12 and my cousin was 11) were goofing off on the stack of small squares in my cousin's...

    Sharpening baler plunger knives...your thoughts

Tons of suppliers carry them...including PartsASAP. The nasty thing is that just one is usually around a hundred bucks.

    JD 520 Radiator Rebuild

Same here---LOTS of Permatex. Cork gaskets will deteriorate when used to seal water. For torques, I just check the Fastenal torque chart for whatever size/grade bolt I am using, and set the torque a few pounds lower than the maximum specified torque. -John

    420T alternator conversion

The alternator on my 620 has a 2 3/4 inch dia. pulley on it, and it puts out a good charge. Not really sure if the pulley diameter really affects charge too much though.

    Sharpening baler plunger knives...your thoughts

Sorry. I'll try and get some better pictures up later today or tomorrow. It's an electric sickle grinder made by a company out of Sioux Rapids, IA called Simonsen. Picked it up with a Ford 501 mower. Does anyone here know anything about these sickle grinders? (When they were made, what happened...

Please pardon my ignorance, but what is the tank on top of the baler?
