    Massey 44 hydraulic cylinder question

I have a 49 MH 44. It had a live hydraulic pump added to run a leaky old New Idea loader. I took the loader off. From the pump I have a high pressure hose and a return hose going back to the reservoir. I split the tractor last summer, and put a 44 Special trans and rear end with a 3 point. But...

    MH 44 with cab/adding heat ?

Thank you so much for your time and input! I will try to McGiver something. I'm thinking tapping in at the upper radiator hose, and returning at a drain petcock or adapting something at a drain plug. But even just having the cab will be more "heat"than I'm used to. But this is my forever...

    MH 44 with cab/adding heat ?

I will look for those ports today Steve. It would sure be neat to have that heater working in the cab. Thank you!

    MH 44 with cab/adding heat ?

Yeah my left hand is crippled from a car crash, so getting in and out is hard for me too. I have a small aluminum step ladder I use to get in and out. Once I'm in there I'm amazed how roomy the cab is. It's an absolute joy to drive now. Thanks for the reply.

    MH 44 with cab/adding heat ?

Probably 10 years ago I bought my 49 MH 44 with a completely worn out transmission. It would lock up at the worst times, and constantly fall out of gear. 3 years ago I bought the 44 Special trans/rear end/cab from a guy parting out a Special. This spring I found a gantry crane, and built up the...

MH 44 Special trans/rear end fill port

Thank you Ben. That is a great idea! Yes they do look like they could be part of the hydraulic system. That's why I wanted to make sure. Thank you for the reply!!!

MH 44 Special trans/rear end fill port

I just bolted a MH 44 Special to my MH 44 engine that had a bad trans. I just want to make sure I add the 13 gallons to the right port. Is it that one to the right of the shifter base? That is what I suspect. But there is a smaller plug facing the seat (to the left of the shifter base in the...

Wheel hub removal on MH44 question

Yup I've even considered taking a cutting torch to the axle shaft about 6 inches away from the hubs, then taking them to a shop to have them pressed off.

Wheel hub removal on MH44 question

Yeah I won't be trying that. I have the tractor split already. But even even if it were still drivable that could get someone hurt when it's already at the end of the axle. Thanks for thinking of my safety!

Wheel hub removal on MH44 question

Thanks for the reply and information. I'm going back up to my shop today. It's 70 miles away so I don't get up there every day. I don't have room in my vehicle to bring my tanks so won't be applying heat. But I can work on the snap ring and polish the end of the shaft, and soak it in better...

Wheel hub removal on MH44 question

I appreciate your honesty. I don't have a spare set of hubs. So I'm going to try to save them. But I don't have to save my axles as I've bought a 44 Special trans/rear end assembly to put on. So worst case scenario I could cut into the axle to release the grip if I had to. Thanks for the reply.
