Timeing H flywheel to to camshaft
I have a '41 H and yes you can see the timing marks if you take off the left side gov bearing cover. You can also take off top crankcase cover and make sure the cam gear is in sync with the crakshaft gear. It's a little tricky to see it but possible. And like Rusty Wheel suggested, be careful...- John Wegienka

electrolysis process - with bearing
Just curious. If you think the bearing is still good why is the casting off the tractor ? If it's a not-to-expensive bearing why not replace it while it's apart... Had to take a race out of a model H casting before. An old timer told me a trick that worked great. Heat race up till almost red...- John Wegienka

That IS a nice sweet original. Unfortunetely one is enough for me at least right now. Still working on retoring a '41 'H'. Was a basket case so I couldn't leave it original. Have fun with the new 'old' workhorse !!!- John Wegienka

Model H governor gear
Thanks everyone for your input. Can't remember if I replaced that bearing or not but will replace it again and check oil lube lines and passeges... before I rework or get into the gears. Thanks again...- John Wegienka

Model H governor gear
Hi, seen a post a few days ago reguarding gov gear for model H. Have a '41 with 'noise' coming from that area. Tractor has been rebuilt including gov. When I had it apart I noticed the teeth were a little scared up with a few burrs here and there. Does anyone know if this is the reason for the...- John Wegienka
