Against my better judgment another followed me home

OK, I tried looking it up. What does LIPF stand for ?

Your chance to make some hay like no one else.

And once it gets placed, does that mean it stays there and cattle come to it to feed? Otherwise, how would it be moved somewhere else? Presumably this is for areas of very low rainfall.

What do you do once it is filled up?

    Ford 142 plow

Interesting that Ford gave it the same model number whether it was a mounted, semi-mounted or pull type. I don’t think the Ford semi-mount version is equivalent to the Oliver 546. The hitch and main frame beam is not like the one on an Oliver 546.

I have a sales brochure for the 565-566-575 plows dated 7/71. The only on-the-go, automatic reset offered at that time was the hydraulic reset on the 575. It was offered in 3-8 bottoms. So it accommodated a wide range of tractor sizes. The 566 was offered in 5-8 bottoms and had cushion action...

I’m guessing that your Dad’s 565 has the spring cushion trips. If you do go to work on it, and you are willing to take the time, start a project thread for us to follow.

I saw the video with Chris Losey digging out the monster rock but have not yet seen the one where he found it. Yes, there were some times the spring resets on my plow were doing their thing.

The 826 did well. I was running in first gear, high range; about 5 mph. After a couple of rounds, I stopped and adjusted the rear coulter to run deeper, hoping to leave a cleaner looking furrow. I think it helped. I’m really happy with how the plow turns the soil.

Just one more. I saw this on my coulter as I was going down the field. The blade had sliced right in between the coils. What are the chances that it hit it just right for that to happen? Better that than finding it sticking out of the tire!

I’m with you; I’m having too much fun plowing and find it hard to make myself stop and take photos of other people. I was fortunate to have had another club member’s daughter take photos and send them to me. Also, our host farmer is a partner in Forrester Farm Equipment and he had one of their...

I’m a little late getting this up but then again it isn’t like it’s breaking news🙂 We had 15 people plowing, eight using Oliver plows. Forty acres plowed.
