    Also having a oil pressure issue. When I aquired the tractor it was pretty well used and abused.     I have the metal pipe that attaches to the valve cover with the correct bolt, and goes to the intake and threads in. It's the were it bolt's to the intake that there is no hole.I'm thinking that I need to drill the intake to open it up.

    On the valve cover to the intake hose should there be a hole in the intake were it threads in.Mine does not have a hole and look's like it was never there? I know there is a reason the pipe is there and seem's like there should be a hole.

    Forgot to add that I ran the tractor for a hlf hour and then pulled the plugs and did another comp test 63lb 78lb 82 lbs 74lbs.Let it sit for a hour and the comp was all over 100lbs. When i pulled the heads the pistons were all full of oil. The intake ports seem dry with no oil residue.

    Boring winter day so I started to tear it down. The was no marking or chanfer on the rings to show right side up. They did look new. I slid one in and there's at least 1/4" end ring gap.     Plugs are black powder looking.They were not wet looking like to much fuel.The smoke is blue and smells like burning oil.

    The guage I use on my other items and seems to be correct.The rebuild was 2 seasons ago and the guy gave up on it after it smoked.He put a few tanks of gas through it in hopes that the rings would seal.Gas is fresh and carb cleaned with fresh rebuild kit.

    Just picked a 54 to30 that smokes. Comp on all 4 cyl is 150lbs. The guy I got it from put new piston rings in it.Comp seems high.Is it possible that oil is getting by the oil ring oer maybe valve guides
