    Same problem here, I eliminated the lock washer and used red loctite. It is holding up good.

    I found one for $1500 outside of Rochester NY. Little TLC and She was up and going. I then tore it apart and rebuilt it. Keep looking they are out there. I saw a Ford 601 for sale down the road from our house. I think it was $2800.

    I just wired brushed mine and hit it with some high temp engine paint. Seems to be holding up just fine.

    Soil here is tough, Probably hit them with the wire brush and some sand paper prior to trying to cut some ground.
