I am just about finished restoring my '50 8N, side mount, 6 volt tractor, and ready to start using some of my attachments.

I have a plow, a box scrape, a rear blade scrape, a disc harrow, a cultivator and a boom pole.

I cannot see that any of this equipment would need a draw bar.

The tractor is equipped with a swinging drawbar attachment that fits around the PTO and under the diff., but the bar and the pin are missing. I also don't have the straight 11 hole drawbar.

Do I need to get a drawbar, either swinging or straight?

If so, when would I need it?

Thanks,

Roy

You probably don't really need one. If you use your tractor to pull a trailer or use older horse-drawn implements you'll need one. The swinging drawbar that fastens under the differential is good to use if you want to pull anything heavy behind the tractor.
