Had to keep tapping the solenoid to start tractor. Originally solenoid was clicking before it would turn over/start. -

The solenoid I got from Yesterday Tractor has a button/plunger on the bottom. Does anyone know what this for/purpose? Also, any idea to check to see if solenoid is good? Thank you, JR -

I am trying to replace starter solenoid on my Ford 640 that has been converted from 6 volt to 12 volt. After connections made tractor won't shut off with key start and cable from solenoid to starter is hot - I'm guessing that I have an incorrect connection? Thank you, John
