    So, I tried to perform the test and cannot find a cap that does not leak. The fitting on the hoses to the steering has an O-ring that fits inside that apparently seals it. Does anyone know where i can find a cap that will seal?

    Great!! awesome... Will try when I get off work. Thanks. I'll let you know how I make out. Which one is the supply? There are two that come from the hyd pump in front underneath the battery. Step side or opposite? One is supply and the other return. Or both supply?

    Power steering, 3pt hitch & frt end loader hyd's are all supplied hyd pressure from same front hyd pump. AS I previously stated you need to return that faulty steering valve & replace it with a steering valve that operates correctly!!!!!! \ If you're in doubt there's a simple test you can...

    JD 2350 steering pump issue

    Thank you, Sir. One of the loader hoses comes off of a port on the priority valve, the other the bottom port in the main filter housing bellow. All was well 20 years, until the steering valve seal blew out of the top. Replaced hoses and valve, have this issue.....other than a flat tire now.

    I failed to mention a detail. When the tractor is running, and you turn the steering wheel, energizing the pump, both the bucket and the draft will begin to work immediately. It would appear no oil is making it's way thru the valve/pump until you turn the wheel. Pump?
