What dumb thing did you do today?

I understand where you're coming from. I too used to have a drinking problem and on occasion got alcohol in my eye instead of my mouth. A few more years of practice and you'll get it right like I have.

    Husky/Porter-Cable framing nailer

I have the same issue with a finishing nailer every time I don't run enough pressure to it. I notice that if I run it at the lower end of it's pressure operating range the piston won't always retract correctly. Jim

    die grinders

I have one of the angle jobs from HF and used it professionally with no problems as long as I lubricate it on occasion. Great for gasket, paint or rust removal with the scotch brite pads. Just make sure you wear eye, ear, and particularly breathing protection (most of the dust you make is...

    o/t electric chainsaw sharpener?

I bought one of the HF electric jobs years ago with a coupon for $20. I was amazed with it. It actually made sharpening the chains fun and quick. You can even adjust it to trim the rakes to match. I don't know why many folks don't like them. You can't beat the price. Jim

    Good Torque Wrench?

I bought a Craftsman 1/2" clicker torque wrench back when they were all steel (no plastic handle) and used it professionally for 27 years. Always reset it to zero before putting it away. Later I worked for a medical supply company and brought it into the metrology lab that had all the FDA...

    Diagnosing charging system failure

I get that every 2 or 3 years on my Lucas system after sitting all winter. The points on the voltage regulator corrode or just tarnish from sitting. I just give the points a quick cleaning and its good to go for another few years.

    Lost wrenches

Yea, I thought the same thing myself. Those wrenches must have been for some very large bolts.

    Drill Doctors

I have one and I like it. I use it enough that I wish I spent the extra few bucks on the split point version.

    Cell Booster

That is what I bet. The fact that a car is steel and possibly similar in that your roof is steel also. While they mention distance between components they never mentioned anything about "isolation through steel encasement" (for lack of a better description) when using it for a home base. The...

    Cell Booster

Yes, I do know about the component distances. Tried varied locations to the point of getting a 15' extension cable to move the antenna much farther away. Maybe I need an unafordably larger ground plane. Simply could not get it to work steadily even with my wife's smart phone. The desk top setup...

That is a standard feature on Photoshop. Watercolor, brush strokes, etc.

    New shop ideas

That is no lame comment. I've done that on numerous occasions and what's lame about it is all the times I've had to refer to those pics later for various reasons. Jim

    Cell Booster

I got one of the Wilson 'Sleek' cradle boosters. It has never worked right. Have it in a stationary setup at the house with the antenna on the roof. It seems to "cycle" for lack of a better term. I can watch the reception bars on the phone slowly rise then slowly fall in about 30 second or so...

    OT-- spelling error

I used to work in the engineering department of a high tech company. It became clear spelling was obviously not taught in engineering school.
