1957 International 350 utility loader question

I love this little guy except for the loader issue. When I am driving around with the loader up it slowly starts dropping down within a minute. Also the bucket tilt does the same thing-droops down even with nothing in it. I move the levers back up and it goes back down. Doesn't matter what...

9n won't charge, did they ever?

Well will need to give up on it for now. We"re in the mowing season and I"ll have to just keep charging the battery. In the past month it all hasn"t gone bad, I"ve replaced points, plugs, cap, rotor, condensor, spark plug wires, amp gauge, new steering wheel, cleaned air cleaner, changed...

9n won't charge, did they ever?

When I put the lights on, the amp meter shows a discharge of 10-20 amps if I recall correctly. Thanks Royse

9n won't charge, did they ever?

Yes, the generator appears original to the tractor, with one wire coming off, and an adjusting screw for more current. Thanks

9n won't charge, did they ever?

Hi, yes, according to what was stamped batt on top, gen on bottom. When tractor runs I have batt voltage at batt terminal of cutout. When I check for voltage at generator I get nothing. When I bypass cutout I get 30 amps. I"ve been told the originl genny shouldn"t put out that much. With an...

9n won't charge, did they ever?

I removed the electronic regulator and put the new cutout on. Before starting the tractor, I polarized the cutout between it"s terminal. Seemed like I heard a click and there was a little spark. Started up the tractor and amp gauges read zero. I am letting it run for a while to see if the...

9n won't charge, did they ever?

Today I removed the two wires from electronic voltage regulator since the amp gauges still were not showing a charge (one gauge at rear of generator and one gauge in console). For an instant I started tractor and touched the two wires together that were on each side of regulator. I immediately...

    8n Problem

Not sure if yours is the same as my 9n, but I was amazed mine ran when I took the oil bath air cleaner apart. The was so much sediment in the cup where the oil goes that it had to have been choked off. 3/4 of the cup was sediment. Probably hadn"t been changed or looked at in decades.

9n won't charge, did they ever?

Beyond frustrated with this. 43 9n. Looks to be good condition wiring harness. When I bought it it didn"t read a charge. New gauges, generator, put electronic voltage generator, and still nothing. Last week new India generator gave a glimmer of hope and with a amp gauge on the back I was...

    9n Ampmeter change issue-what's wrong?

Good thought, JMOR, thanks. One thing I made sure is follow those directions, and even contacted the gentleman that sold me the regulator. He also warned me against a couple things. This generator from india had an adjustable output screw that would give 0 amps or 12 amps, and was loose. I...

PTO seal seems too snug on wear collar

Used the tractor for some mowing and the pto seal burned up just like I thought it would with oil leaking out all over the rear. The seal was too tight of fit on the sleeve. I should have known better than put the shaft back in. Listen to yourself guys when questions come up like this in your...

    9n Ampmeter change issue-what's wrong?

Well the charging went for a few minutes then stopped. Will be sending this generator back.

    9n Ampmeter change issue-what's wrong?

Well, I found another amp gauge and that didn't work. I then tied the amp gauge in series right down by generator. I removed the one generator wire and put in amp meter, started tractor and nothing. Adjusted the amp screw on back of brand new generator made in India. Junk! After fiddling...
