Need help identifying step on my JD "B"

Hello friends, Does anyone have any information on the step on my 1935 "B"? I thought my Dad may have fabricated the step back in the 50's or 60's. However a number of years ago, I saw an identical step on a tractor on the internet. So, I am assuming this was a commercial aftermarket item...

Rich, Yes, I'm probably thinking to deep. Before I rebuild the entire mag, I will look at the cap, rotor, points & condenser. Good advice! Joe

    WICO XH1042 magneto

Thanks for all the info guys! Well, I just need to pull my mag and measure the lugs I guess. I couldn't remember if they were long or short. The reason I asked, is I was under the impression that the XH1042 was a short lug mag built after 1940. Maybe they made them both ways or the lug piece...

    WICO XH1042 magneto

I have a 1935 B with a WICO XH1042 magneto. This is probably not the original magneto. I think that may have been a Fairbanks & Morse DRV2B? My question is this: Does this tractor and this WICO magneto have a short or long ear assembly? Currently the tractor runs, but starts hard. I...

Step for unstyled John Deere B

Excellent point Mike! When I back it in the shed, the rear wheels are against the back wall, so it makes it hard to get on. However, I would hate to get my clothes tangled in the flywheel, so that is solid advice. Thanks, Joe

Step for unstyled John Deere B

Hello friends, I'm looking for advice or pictures of a step for my 1935 B John Deere. My first preference would be in front of the axle by the flywheel and second choice behind the axle. Thanks for any suggestions or pictures. Joe

Do you have a diverter valve on the tractor to switch between front and rear hydraulics? Did some one adjust the rear cylinder travel stop? Good luck, Joe

Need Tire/wheel flap for 6x36 rim

Does anyone have a source for the tire flap for a 6 x 36" rim. This is the rubber band that goes over the spokes to protect the inner tubes. This is on a 1935 "B" John Deere. Thanks for any help, Joe

    John Deere 318 Runs Rough

Hi Bill, I had a problem like yours and it turned out to be the gasket and mating surfaces between the intake manifold and the block. I found it by spraying some WD-40 in those areas. When I hit the leak, the engine instantly ran better. (careful about fire hazard). So I changed gaskets and...
