    8N 3-Point Lack of Control

I'm having a problem where I move the lever to up and the arms will go all the way up even if I've only moved it a little. Same problem going down. It's doing full travel with nothing in the middle.

    Butts

Couple of you guys mentioned how small the CASE 600 series combines seem the be. As this pic shows my CIH 1660 looks really big compared to the 660. And now my 1660 would look small sitting next to any new combine. I remember a neighbor had a E Gleaner, that was a teeny weeny combine also. Rod.

    O/T vehicle and H.O. Insurance

Does every state out there allow insurance companies to jack up their annual rates, without regulation of any kind? Utah allows ins. Co.'s to dictate to its customers the amount of coverages, forces you to have uninsured and underinsured coverage and with 0 losses and perfect driving record...

    Fuel Regular or unleaded

Actually, lead is not needed in an N because of the use of hardened valves and valve seats. Back in the old days, valve seats were not hardened and the lead left a cushion to prevent wear. Lead also left a residue on the spark plugs so they had to be changed a lot more often than nowdays. If...

    2n oil leak

I changed H-fliud last fall b4 head gasket probs and it was ok then. Sat all winter with a tarp over tractor but not on level ground. Will check level a little closer. Thanks. Worry?

    2n oil leak

Nope, it all started with about a tablespoon sized puddle right under the red cable nut you see in the pic. That whole area you see looked like that all last summer but kinda dried up over the winter. Then after a few warm ups and a couple of over nights, that whole area is sloppy again.

    2n oil leak

You know my Rustina sat all winter waiting for her new head gasket and in that time most of the oil leaks dried up. When I got her going again, here is a little puddle of oil below the starter switch. By the time I painted and retorqued the head and graded the drive, the oil slick had covered...

    Head paint

I guess if I should use primer was my main question. Hi temp engine paint can didn't say anything about primer. Have some naval jelly and some Duro Extend. Rebuilt the carb too so gonna paint that also.

    Head paint

Yep. That red wire is my e-z on e-z off to the coil wire. And the others are untouched from previous owner from 3 years ago. Want to clean them up some day and get rid of the "exciter button" on the dash which I forget to push once in a while.

    Head paint

When I did the head gasket, I had the head magnafluxed just to be sure. After installation, and a few days of weather it looked like this. I have some red engine spray can paint from TSC. How much prep work should I do? and do I need primer? Thanks for any thoughts.

    2N running again!

Yesterday I had a chance to install a new coil and just for the fun of it, I went thru regapping points, and checking all resistances. It had a BEAUTIFUL blue spark. Took the vicegrips off the temp fuel line, gave it a second, and fired first turn over! So now I have new head gasket, rebuilt...

    Oh no!

Bob- I'm in the Lansing area. Just have an old 2n with a front end loader I use for lifting and a blade for grading the driveway. Was going to plow snow last winter but blew the head gasket back in November. It started snowing just as I was ready to put it all back together and it never...

    Oh no!

My wife thinks I did a bad thing and is threatening to take my computer privlages away. Promise, no jokes again this year.

    2n coil update

Yep, mine isn't near that shiny. Ol' Rustina should be running any day now. Positive vibes!
