    Re ringing a Cub

Well just for fun do a search on this: 7F5225 Break-in Powder Yes! Cat actually had a part number for Bon Ami back in the day!

    Voltage ? what is it?

Well if you have already decided you are going to convert to 12 volt one wire system you won't be needing the regulators so toss them, as for the starter I have been running a 6 volt starter on 12 volts in my BN for something like 30 years and the only problem I had with the starter was a bad...

    Re ringing a Cub

Where is this Cub hiding? Wish it was in Central NY I'd be tempted to consider buying it, not that I really need more projects but...

    Farmall B cam timing

When do you think the intake should start to open? The exact point for any one engine might be off by a few degrees when compared to some other engine but the basics are the same for all four-stroke engines. Some engines have a bit more overlap to allow the inertia of the exhaust flowing out...

    Cub head torque

And I was only asking about the size of the studs/bolts to get an idea if the torque listed sounded reasonable!

    Cub head torque

What size bolts do the use? BN uses 1/2 studs at 65 ft./lbs.

    Cub valve spring keeper type

    1947 Cub no compression update

Maybe I'm a bit on the fussy side, just thinking if a couple are rusted so bad they won't move the other six might be just a little less rusted. I mean we are talking a little four cylinder two valve engine with one head, not a 16 cylinder four valve per cylinder engine with eight heads...

    1947 Cub no compression update

I thought I replied to this thread this morning but have not seen my post. Anyhow one of the points I made was if the valves can be removed just by just backing off the adjuster and removing the keepers with the head off why not do it? I'd take all valves out, keeping them somehow tagged to...

Are aftermarket ROPS available for Farmall Offset Tracto

Not to get too far off topic here but I had about the same thing happen with a Yamaha XS650 motor cycle. In most countries they sold them with dual front disk brakes but in the USA they only used disk on the right side. To save a little money, I guess, Yamaha used the same left fork and rims on...

Are aftermarket ROPS available for Farmall Offset Tracto

My thoughts exactly, I mean I have a 1947 BN now, but if I was to buy a 1947 IH pickup to go with it am I going to get in trouble if it doesn't have seat belts and shoulder harness or anti-lock brakes? If this guys' boss is afraid he is going to be getting in trouble for not updating an old...

Are aftermarket ROPS available for Farmall Offset Tracto

Have to agree on this. Coming from the heavy equipment side where you can get written up by a federal inspector just because someone painted over a tag on a ROPS. I can imagine the problems you would be getting into if someone got even a relatively minor injury running a tractor with a home...
