    OT 2 stroke mix question for old chain saw

    I was given a pristine 1950"s 3 hp 2 stroke outboard motor. After I got it running I searched old outboard forums & found it was recommended to use a 20:1 mix as the older motors used sleeve bearings (bushings?) & would not be adequately lubed with a 50:1 mix like I use in everything else.

    8N pressure relief valve - access

    When I replaced mine I took both side covers off & facing backwards from the "driver's" side of the tractor you can stick an arm in each hole, wrench in right hand & work by feel.

    OT: Air Compressor Trouble

    Might be the unloader valve that releases pressure from the compressor head when it shuts off,so the piston doesn't have to compress cyl. full of air when it restarts. You can usually hear them bleed off when the compressor stops.

    OT outboard motor sheer pin

    They are fairly soft so they will break & protect your gear box if the prop strikes a rock. I have used a cut off nail when I couldn't get to a dealer to get the exact replacement.
