    anyone sharpen sickle blade knives?

    Was wondering if anyone has had luck sharpening blades either on sickle mower or haybine, and what is best to use, ive got a spare cutterbar with a lot of dull knives.

    Well I got it all apart. The bearings are gone and so is the top bearing seat? It is broken. Looks like its been this way for lots of years. The woem and the pin that drives it look OK. The pin isnt hardly worn you can still read the numbers on the end of it. So it looks like I need 2 bearings...

    434 steering box

    Thank you thats exactly what I did. Ive got it off and torn apart. Looks like a bearing gone but its been gone for so long I cant even tell where it went. No oil at all in box just pieces of a bearing. Anyone know where the bearing went or if I can even buy a bearing?

    You say not to put 12 volt to them? The tractor has a 12 volt battery? I think i understand about the series deal. Someone has been messing around with these already I think.

    Does anyone have a picture of the hookups on IH 434 glowplugs? They seem to have a ground and a hot wire to each one? I get power at the plug but it doesnt seem to make the GP work? On the front 2 there is a connection to a ground.

    Im trying to remove the steering column/box on my 434 diesel. Anyone thats done one , do you remember how many bolts held it on? Ive take 4 bolts that are 5/8 wrench size off. Also I bigger nut that was on a bigger sized stud. So all together Ive taken 5 things off and its still so tight it wont...

    Rex did you remove the whole steering column? 4 bolts on the bottom? I have no manual or anything but it looks like if I unhooked everything behind the dash and took the steering wheel off it would pull straight up after I undid those 4 bottom bolts? Sound familar or am I off a mile?

    I recently bought a 434 and the steering wheel turns nearly a full turn before the wheels start to turn? I read all the threads here and there was another one doing the same thing but they didnt ever say what they did to fix it? Does anyone know if there are any servicable parts in the steering...
