    Hello all, I had a problem with the PTO on my 3010 tractor a few weeks ago when I was cutting hay. The tractor's PTO shaft would not turn when the tractor was under load and made a winding noise in the rear end. I shimmed the shifter rod behind the PTO stub shaft and had real good luck with it...

    JD 445 lawn tractors, timing gears?

    looking at two units for sale. Seems that timing gears on this Kawasaki engine are/were problematic.These are both post 97 manufacture and I have been lead to believe that these would have factory updated gears as original. Looking for further comments on this issue.

    Thanks for the info. I have a front mounted distributor and I did check and I am getting spark.

    I replaced the governor on my 8N and now the tractor won't start. I'm thinking its a fuel/carburetor problem. Is there anything else that may be a problem?
