OT- Dodge Caravan Auto Trans Problem Follow-UP
its an 01 with the 47re. i think im gonna give that a shot. i know my converter is on its way out (a lot of slipping,stuttering and no lockup) and the bands are probably wore out too. im just looking to get a couple more months out of it till i can afford a repplacement. thanks for the link! -

early 24 vlaves, its hit or miss really but after 2000 most of the 12 valve gear cases we used up. the new ones have a beveled edge where the kdp lives, keeping it from coming out. the only way to know for sure is to pull it all apart and take a look. but your right, some of the 24 valve ISB...- kevinnaa

i was refering to a 24valve but the 12 valves are the same way with the feed pump except the require a bit more pressure. a fuel pressure gauge is cheap insurance that could save your expen$ive injector pump( p-pump for 12 valve or vp-44 for the 24 valve). the KDP (killer dowel pin) is more...- kevinnaa

your lift pump! if it hasnt been done already. the dodge pumps wear out pre-maturely causing major damage to your injector pump(usually about 1k-1500 for a reman). then i would put a fuel pressure gauge on it. pressure should be about 17 or so lbs at idle. anything below 10 is bad news. also i...- kevinnaa

i just sold my restored ford jubilee for 4k. bought it as a running tractor with the hydraulics not working and a caracked block for 1400. becasuse its not running you cant test anything so it could just be the motor OR everything is worn out. around here non-runners go for roughly 500... -

first gen. Dodge Cummins owners
they are good trucks. i have a 2001 2500 cummins, 253k and still going strong. the 2nd gen autos are the weak link them, along with the lift pumps on all the 24 valves. not sure about the autos in the first gen trucks. a lot of people including me run marine grade 2 stroke oil in with the fuel... -
