    Nearly bbq'd my to-20 today

Went out to the barn to get out the tractor, wouldn't fire up. I checked and no gas in it. I poured about a gallon, put the gas can back and when I turned around the tractor was raining gas. It has an inline fuel filter, with rubber hose connections on each end. The end on the exhaust side split...

    How bad is this?

I finally got the time to repack the bearings, both sides, change the brake shoes and get it back together. So far no metal on metal sounds. It now has brakes, but just barely. I guess I will have to add repack bearings to the maintenance list. Thank you all very much for your responses. They...

    How bad is this?

Thanks for the link and video! Edit: the wheels turn in opposite directions. Update: I pulled the axle, there is no grease on the bearing, and isn't there supposed to be a seal in the end of the transmission housing?.

    How bad is this?

I got it up in the air, both wheels off. "Bad side" drum and brakes off. I don't get how the shoes are greasy but the drum lining clean... I got that cleaned up. I put the lug nuts back on and used a board to get it to turn, now it will turn both ways. Turning the drivers side drum does not move...

    How bad is this?

So, my new to me TO-20, started making a horrendous grinding sound from the drivers side back tire. At first it only lasted a couple seconds, after letting out the clutch. Then as I immediately started driving back to the barn it was constant. Very loud and absolutely metal on metal. To do a...

    TO-20 oil change question

Thanks for the tips! I'm going to get the new oil today and put it back together. I was thinking the tighter the better, never thought about it creating another issue later. And to be honest, I was indeed thinking synthetic high mileage oil. I am really new to this. This site is full of correct...

    TO-20 oil change question

At first I just got an assortment case at a big box home improvement store, but I returned them, they were very thin and narrow. I got a asst box of thicker ones at a local hardware store.

    TO-20 oil change question

I am changing the oil and filter on my TO-20. The draining part went well, the plate wasn't welded on, no pounds of sealant the old seal came right off. I got a new filter and plate gasket, and new copper washers for both bolts. My question is should just go ahead and apply permatex on the new...

Can someone, or everyone tell me what I have here? To start you have to move the shifter to S.

I 100% agree with that. The tractor bounces so bad when lifting or lowering the bucket, and it is almost impossible to steer with it on. It will be coming off very soon. I really didn't want the loader, but it was on the tractor when I bought it.

Thank you. I finally sprayed off the layers of dirt and found the plate on the dash. It is indeed at Ferguson TO20.
