    8N gear oil.

I saw where TSC still offered the 90w mineral oil. I see old hokeys point about it needing to serve three purposes. Called the old buzz that rebuilds 8n and 9ns here in town and he said "all purpose hydraulic oil". Going to another place to see what they have. Trying to keep it under $50.

    8N gear oil.

I have had an 8n now for a couple years. It has a slight drip on the 3 pt arm pin. I have added a small amount of universal as needed. I noticed it getting milky so I just want to dump it all and start over. I went to the tractor store and felt foolish. All the modern designations are foreign to...

    9N Hood removal

By golly, taking off the steering wheel was the key. Simple hood removal straight up and down. Steering wheel was a rough go to get off. Finally, reluctant to bang on things, I devised a puller. Tractor is a 2N and steering shaft was keyed.

    9N Hood removal

With just a little more thought and engineering, Ford could have made the hood hinge forward. They were almost there and appear to have had that idea the way they made it. I tried to pull the steering wheel. It was stuck so I lubed it up and put the acorn back on. Maybe it will pop off. There...

    9N Hood removal

Thank you one and all. The hood goes back on this weekend after I run a compression test and replace plugs and tailor new copper plug wires and replace points and replace manifold gaskets. I want to get this all done while the hood is off. If I booger up the overflow tube again then I might cry.

    9N Hood removal

Anybody have any tricks or advice on wrestling that hood on and off??? First time I took it off I broke my overflow hose on the neck of the radiator. Soldered that back up..... Then I used a hoist and a nylon strap and it still didn't go real smooth. Seems like it wants to come up by the...

    Tires for JD B

Has anyone ever tried an "irrigation tire"????? They look just like a tractor tire except the lug angle is slightly different. I can get a 6 ply 38 x 11.8 for $250 delivered.

    Tires for JD B

Studying up...The 11.8 is a ten inch and the 12.4 is an eleven inch. Back in 1952 did they use the 12.4 designation??? If not then those tires are not original as they say "12.4 x 38" We bought the tractor in 1974. I took a couple of framing squares and the 12.4's measure a little over a foot...

    Tires for JD B

Thanks.I have seen used tires for sale but they are about like mine the day before they split apart. I had to buy a whole tractor (basket case) to get a tire for my H international.

    Tires for JD B

I have a 1952 B that belonged to my Dad. The rear tires have split apart. They are 12.4 X 38. Looking for tires I see they are high priced. Also saw that 11.8 x 38 are more reasonably priced. If I go with the 11.8 then they are $150 cheaper. Wondering if anybody has any thoughts on that...
