    '37 D misfire at idle

That's what I was thinking too, but it turned out to be then LH con rod bearing shimmed too tight. As soon as I loosened the cap, it freed up and rolls much easier all the way around. It's not very strong on either cylinder. The carb and magneto were both recently rebuilt but I'm going to...

    '37 D misfire at idle

No, it's definitely not compression. The LH impulse mark is about 11:00 and it sticks tight and won't move forward or back, even with the plugs out and clutch released. The weird part is that it doesn't do it every revolution and it's not always completely stuck, sometimes it's just a light...

    '37 D misfire at idle

Ya, that makes sense. My A is like that too, just not to this extreme. The RH petcock on my A still puffs, just not as hard as the left. The one on this D seems completely dead. I just bought it and I haven't tuned the carb yet. And I'm also thinking I might have some stuck rings because...

    '37 D misfire at idle

Does this seem normal? With the petcocks open, the LH cylinder hits hard everytime. The RH only hits on occasion. If I pull the RH plug wire off, not much changes. If I pull the LH wire off, the idle slows down, but the RH cylinder begins firing and it still idles pretty smooth.

Orbital motor on a 3020 question.

Good info. I was concerned about what a spinning mower would do if something like the loader tried to use all the available flow, but I hadn't considering to shut it down yet. I think an overrunning clutch like they use on tractors that don't have a live PTO would solve both problems.

Orbital motor on a 3020 question.

A mower mounted on the loader for trimming under trees and such. Everything I've found indicates the tractor has an 18gpm pump. Do you think I can run a motor that requires 10gpm without much issue?

Orbital motor on a 3020 question.

I'd like to run an orbital motor off an scv on the rear of my side console 3020. Will the small speed control lever maintain a consistent motor rpm with various loads? Or will there be a drastic RPM change between full load and light load? My second question is how many GPM can the scv...

    JD 858 rake teeth

Here are dimensions I used. Have at it! Each one is 4.5" long. I drilled the holes 13/32 so a carriage head bolt would smash into them. If you're doing it by hand, I'd use a regular bolt so the clip could slide sideways for adjustment. The slot is 5/16 wide but the left edge is the only part...

    JD 858 rake teeth

Thanks for the tips guys. For anybody searching this post in the future, I ended up using a piece of .125" x 1.5" angle. I used the Bridgeport because it will be a simple matter to make 20 more identical pieces, but you could do it with a drill and a grinder if you had some patience.

    JD 858 rake teeth

Thanks guys. I found a JD part number g6760e but they're $30 each. I checked out the dimensions on the NH teeth and I think they will bolt right on, then I can use the NH clips that are $1 each.

    JD 858 rake teeth

From what I can see, the slot in the clip is on the wrong side, but I'm going to get some and try anyway. Maybe I need to see if the NH teeth will fit, except I already bought 25 of the JD teeth.

    JD 858 rake teeth

I bought a JD 858a bar type rake that has rubber mounted teeth. Are the steel spring teeth supposed to be a direct bolt on or am I missing something? I'm having trouble with them twisting on the bolt. I see tooth clips for the New Holland rakes for sale but none for the JD. [/img:fa60ef5ea6]

    Massey 12 knotter problems.

Yes, the stripper arm isn't completely removing the knot. That bow is staying in between the jaws and then the lower twine breaks as the bale is pushed through. I was able to watch it as somebody else rolled it through today. I took this pic just after the knife started to move. As the knot...
