    Leaky Hydraulic Couplers.

Thanks for the quick reply Tgrasher. I'll look into rebuilding them. Are they hard to dismantle?

    Leaky Hydraulic Couplers.

I'm sure this has been discussed in the past, but I don't remember the outcome. I have leaky hydraulic couplers on my 600B. They leak while there is nothing hooked up to them. Is there any way to stop this without replacing the coupler?

    Road trip picts

I think you are looking at the wagon hitch. Wagons were pulled along beside the picker, not behind the machine like newer models are.

400 b Hydraulic levers under battery

The roll pins can be replaced without removing the gas tank. I replaced these pins in a 300RN, 530, and 600B without removing a bunch of stuff first. I used short pieces of rod that are a little smaller in diameter than the roll pin, and some small pry bars. Pry a short rod in the hole to get...

Add a 90-degree elbow on the top and point it forward. See if that helps.

You have it running really well. Is that muffler for an Allis Chalmers D17? It really quiets the engine noise.

    Case 530 lubrication questions

The steering rod seal is shot in my 530's steering gear box. Since the tractor doesn't get used very often, I drained out the 80-90 that was in it, and added a zerk in the drain plug. I then filled it full of JD corn head grease. If you still want to fill it with 80-90, the manual states to fill...

    Case 646 hydraulic oil

Yes, it does use motor oil in the hydraulics. Fill the reservoir 5" to 6" from the top of the reservoir fill hole. 15-40 Rotella will work for summer and winter.

Started as a simple oil change.....

You better find out why the piston skirt had broken in the first place. The skirt might break on the new piston the first time you run it. I had a 2.3L Ford engine that had a knock in the engine. Turned out that the skirt was broken, so I replace the one piston with a new one, without figuring...

    600b Update

Ben, Do you have contact information for the person that makers the aluminum gauge plate? I'd like to put gauges on my 600B.

    Draining the 600B.

I don't think the case-o-matic really caught on for most farmers. They would rather have a 500B than the slipping case-o-matic. At least that's what I hear from the older farmers when the subject comes up.
