    JD 50 Compression Test

    Did compression test on JD 50. 60 PSI on both cylinders. Seems low to me. What should compression be? I have IT Shop Manual, but can't find what it should be. All I can find is compression ratio.

    Thanks for info. Found oil level plug and canistor for oil filter. Not sure what problems could occur removing canistor to replace filter. Will check with JD dealer about maintence manual for this tractor. Plan to use as a puller.

    I Had a similiar problem with 1954 40T. Timing was off. Check timing.

    Axel Grease In Transmission

    Have JD 40T. Found transmission full fo axel grease. Hard to get in gear in cold weather. Any reason for grease or someone trying to hide transmission problem?

    I had same experience with this guy. He had me get debit card from Dollar General. I gave him debit card number valued $200.00 for deposit. Never showed up for pick up. Used name Tom Walker Phone # 224-531-3002. I still call this number and get a recording to leave message and no return...

    I have a JD 40 T. I don't see many comments or photos on this model tractor. Are they scarce or not a good model to restore or to use as a pulling tractor for hobbyist.
