    Refining diesel is not as much 'less to refine' as years ago. ULSD has increased the cost of refining.     Mixing single wt. oil.

    Wont hurt a thing. Years ago we had a 826D that was the main winter power on the portable Gehl mill, as at the time we didn't use 15w-40 in anything, we mixed 30w and 10w to get a 15 to 20w oil for all the long hours of heavy grinding calf and piglet feed.

    corn chopping, sorta

    If its going into a silo, I wouln'dt bother with the 1/2 load 1/2 load routine. Had a neighbor years ago that would do a load of corn silage, then a load of haylage, claimed it mixed just as well as the 1/2 load 1/2 load 'promanade'.

    HYDRAULIC OIL OR ENGINE OIL

    The previous owner more than likely used 30w non-detergent motor oil because it was the cheapest he could find. if you're just 'topping it off' any general purpose hydraulic fluid should work

    IH 720 plow

    I plowed w/ a 856 for years 720 5x16 and a 5x18. L3, TA in forward position most of the time. Wide open throttle.
