    Got both covers removed and the holes drilled in H cover. Now a lot of cleaning and waiting on gaskets. Thanks everyone!

    The 1/2" bolts I referred to hold the front 350 cover on to block. The H uses 3/8" bolts to secure the front cover to block.

    Yes the 350 was a short utility tractor. The 1/2" bolts I referred to hold the front cover on to block. Thanks for any information.

    Got engine from 350 to go in H. The engine had been in fire and hoses and wires burned. Want to change front cover and use H cover. The 350 cover is too wide to fit in frame rails. Haven't taken apart yet but noticed 350 used 1/2 -13 bolts and H using 3/8 bolts. Are there 1/2 by 3/8 studs...

    Have removed all parts as you said and have a slide hammer on clutch shaft. it will move in and out about two inches and then won't go any further out. May have to take apart final drive to get out.

    Read somewhere you could pull shaft all the way out and pull both steering clutches. Is this not a good idea. Is it better to pull both pinions and move it back and forth to pull clutch pack on each side and not take shaft all the way out. thanks Lee for the responses. Larry

    Have pulled right pinion. I can get movement of clutch shaft but not far, then it feels solid. Is the clutch shaft interference fit with bearings on the way out?

    Have 1947 Allis and steering clutch removal in progress. Have right pinion removed. Have spacers removed from each end of steering clutch. Can get movement in and out a short distance. IS steering shaft a slight bit smaller than pinion or is it the same diameter? Anyone have steering discs for...
