Head gasket for MF 175 with Perkins Diesel

I replaced the head gasket on my 165 twice. I didn't get the block clean enough the first time. You need to make sure you clean around the studs at the block real good to make sure the head can sit down all the way. Hope this helps. Lee

    6070 Tie rod dilemma

I had the same problem with my 6060, I removed the whole thing and placed it in a vise on a bench. Heated it near red hot and used an air hammer to remove the tie rod end. It came apart better than I thought it would. The tapper part was already out, so I was able to put air hammer punch...

    allis 6070

Had the same thing happen to my 6060, save yourself the trouble of troubleshooting. Injector pump needs to be rebuilt and install the updated parts, that's what I had done, works great. The drive parts on the original factory were made with a hard rudder component and after awhile it...

    MF 165 clutch issues

I have the same tractor, if you put the multi-power in 'low', you won't have that problem. It's common for multi-power to do that. I think they called a hill climb feature because they couldn't figure how to stop it. If you let out the clutch just a little and push it back in quick and move...

    MF 1030 compact

I had that problem with my 165, turns out the problem was with my block prep. Had to clean the area around the studs and the block real good. It had just enough junk in that area to keep the head from pulling down tight. I used a knife or scarce all to make sure all the carbon or debris was...

MF175 loss of PTO + hydraulics

I agree with Dieseltech, the 3pt runs off the main hydraulic pump, which runs off the bottom shaft in the transmission. If you have IPTO, where you don't have to use the clutch to engage the pto, there is a aux pump that operates the hydraulic clutch for the pto and multi-power. I agree that...

    Does size matter?

On an oil sending unit supply line, at least? Here's a picture of the back of the dash on my 35 Chevy. The fuel gauge is the one with the scary wiring (which worked until I saw those wires and cut the supply line!). Under that is the oil pressure line. It appears to be 1/8 inch copper or...

Massey Ferguson 1100 Diesel Injector/Fuel Problems

Have heard of something like this, turned out to be a plastic bag in the tank. Right after it stalls next time, check fuel flow at the inj pump. If no flow, take a wire with hook and fish around the outlet on the tank. Neighbor had a curly que of plastic and some junk get into the fuel line...

Deere 105 varable speed belt problem

Started to cut rye today with the 105. Cut one bin full as it is hardly fit. We just replaced both the variable speed drive belts with new ones from Jay Dee belts. The bottom belt is overtight and the top one is hardly tight enough. I made one round then retighten them and now after another...

    Massey Ferguson 175 PTO

Agree with DT that the pressure plate probably is stripped. The outer input shaft to the transmission drives off the pressure plate, the PTO, main hydraulic pump and the aux hydraulic pump(which drives the IPTO and remote hydraulics). You probably need to split the tractor at the bell house to...

    190XT Series III Diesel

Had a similar thing happen to my 6060, like others said, small black bits of rubber. Mine also had some moisture problems that the solenoid(fuel shut off) won't pull enough. Mine would sometime run for an hour and other time would run for 15 minutes and then start to slow down and finally only...
