Finally got the second coat of paint on my wheel centers. Had a nice few weeks with unusually low humidity here. Got the centers bolted back on the rims this morning. Turned out pretty nice. Not perfect, but way better than before. I need to practice how to get a nice even smooth coat of paint...- LithiumCobalt

Just to report back what my experience was, I ended up ordering the "custom Iowa match" 8N gray and it IS different than the other formula that they are trying to peddle but is not correct for 8Ns. This color looks to be correct. I gave my wheel centers a first coat and the color seems right...- LithiumCobalt

Tell me more please. I have never painted a tractor. If there are better options, I’m all ears. I have a spray gun, hardener and reducer ready to paint my wheel centers but if it will be crap then Id rather spend more on something else. Everything will be blasted and primed before paint- LithiumCobalt

I actually ended up purchasing what I believe to be the correct gray and red from VanSickles. The gray has the TP240 label on it which many have said is the Tisco formula for 8N gray. As for the red, I am not sure if its totally correct. EDIT: Now I see what you mean. Label at the bottom...- LithiumCobalt

Trying to decide what to do with my seat. I have this aftermarket shock-assisted seat on my tractor currently. Can't remember the brand or what it was called.... I have not done any testing. Seems to run fine, but the oil smoke just rolls out of the breather. To me, that means worn rings or a number of other things. Who did you have do your engine restoration? I don't know that I would trust anyone local to do mine. I am located in Knoxville, TN. Just 8Ns is about five hours from me in NC. Considered hauling it over there to have them do it, but haven't checked with them yet.- LithiumCobalt
