    Oliver Row Crops

Saw a couple old Olivers today and need a little info on them. Spec. #77-0387 SN 3506128, other one Spec. #88-1791 SN 3508296. Just curious if there was anything special about either one of them.

semi-ot: Air brakes on 83 ford F8000 truck

A chap I'm doing work for needs a brake job on the rear end of his 1983 ford f8000. I was going to order the shoes from NAPA tonight, when I realized that they offer them in two sizes: 15x6 and 15x7. Any idea which one I should use? The truck is a single-axle dump truck, with air brakes and dual...

Need help urgently with oil pump check valve, high oil pr...

So, yeah, it was reversed. I popped the pump out after lunch, reversed the valve, and then popped it back in. Not only did this fix the oil-leaking problem I had this morning, it also fixed the chronic high oil pressure that I've had for the past few months. Thanks everybody who helped me out!

Need help urgently with oil pump check valve, high oil pr...

I've had a problem with high oil pressure in my jube for a while now- see http://www.ytmag.com/cgi-bin/viewit.cgi? bd=nboard&th=747442 for a description. Basically, I was told to pop the oil pan off, pop the oil pump out, and check to see if the relief valve was operating normally. I did...

My oil pressure is WAY TOO HIGH!

I will do that when the temp up here gets into the double digits. Thanks for the advice, man, I really appreciate it.

My oil pressure is WAY TOO HIGH!

It's Wisconsin, dude. It's sort of cold, but not too bad. I think the temps were in the teens when I was running it. The tractor never ------ out the filter before. It's gotta be making too much pressure. I doubt that it would be coincidence that the oil pressure gauge would read too high (and...

My oil pressure is WAY TOO HIGH!

Clarify: I was mowing with this in normal temps a month ago, and the oil pressure was way too high then. I don't really care what the temperature is, I refuse to believe that the same brand and weight of oil and the same brand and type of oil filter have suddenly turned against me. It's gotta...

My oil pressure is WAY TOO HIGH!

Drat, i did remove the hydraulic pump! (*headdesk*) Anyway, I'll do the trick you guys described with the relief valve and see what happens. I am not spending $20 bucks on a new oil pressure gauge when it's obvious that shooting the messenger isn't gonna get me anywhere. It was new a few years...

My oil pressure is WAY TOO HIGH!

How would I go about fixing that problem?

My oil pressure is WAY TOO HIGH!

I am pretty unfamiliar with the oil system myself. I don't know, really. The oil pump was only off the tractor for a day, and it was on a clean surface. Both it and the tractor were in the barn at the time.

My oil pressure is WAY TOO HIGH!

I posted on here a while back about the oil pressure on my Jube being way too high. The needle was pegging at around 1200 RPM. The advice I was given was to replace the gauge. I haven't gotten around to that, but I decided to get the tractor out and run it yesterday, because I hadn't in a...
