    Yep, electrolysis doesn’t really care about brand or model. Replacing liners or blocks on any engine 60 plus years old is absolutely not unusual. So if I have to do it once in 60 years on a 2010, I don’t categorize that tractor as the worst John Deere ever made.

    I have a friend who has an early 2010 diesel and his was hard to start, but all of mine are 1965 units above serial number 60000. If anyone has a diesel about 67000 and wants to get rid of it, I’m always looking.

    Copy. I've got three diesels plus a gasser. I've had good luck with them. I'm always looking for the higher serial number units, above 67000. I was glad to find a source for new pistons as I've got one torn down for a rebuild and it saved me from scrounging used pistons.

    For a parade tractor, I would take a gas 2010 all day every day over a 1010. More room, better steering, more gears, bigger radiator/better cooling system, easier to diagnose/repair ignition issues more quickly.

    Tom, I will try that. The thing that puzzles me the most is how consistently the smoke clears up. After 60-90 seconds, there is zero smoke out of the exhaust. The exhaust pulses out of the muffler are absolutely smooth; no misfire whatsoever.
