Do any of you guys have a brake lathe and turn rotors or drums.

I've done them on my Bridgeport with a rotary table fairly successful. I used a 3" face mill and then a cupped grinding wheel.

    24 volt system

When my 4010 was still 24 volts, I bought a 24-volt wheelchair charger. I still have it. I have the 24-volt generator and starter in my garage but I'm much happier with the 12-volt alternator and starter. I kept both batteries in parallel. I am odd I know, but I don't like 6-volt stuff either.

    Wiring Question

No different than a cord for a RV. I run a 220v extension cord for my welder and air compressor when I want to weld outside of the garage. I run my 5hp Lathe and 2hp Bridgeport on extension cords. They just have to be rated for the amp load of your equipment.

    Small Home-Made Tractor

I recently acquired a twin cylinder Wisconsin that has a propane carburetor on it. It also has a 4:1 gear box mounted on it. I have never worked on a propane system before. It looks like it would be a pre regulated supply going into this carb. Can anybody give me some advice on this type of carb...

    GP question

I checked my GP and when the LH impulse is at the mark the coupler on the mag is horizontal. I rebuilt my governor weights and put seals in the fan shaft, mag drive when I rebuilt the top end back in 2017.

I'll look at my GP and see where my mag coupler is.

    Bridgeport question

Is the fly cutter body round? If it is, the diameter divided by 2 = the radius, plus the length of your cutter will be the diameter of the cut.

    Drill bit for stainless steel

Drill slow with even cutting feed pressure. Too much speed and light feed will work harden SS. A carbide burr will work too, if a cobalt drill doesn't work.

    My C in the snow

It lifts when backing up with arms that trip when driving forward. About 4-5" is all it lifts with the arms. It works very well. I have wheel weights inside the cast dish wheels that I bought from Paul in Wentzville, MO. I was given five buckets of tractor chains, just have not got around to get...

Welding in a creased/angled sheet metal patch

I have never had a problem with MIG welding sheet metal while holding it in place with magnets. I was taught in vo-tech about the magnetic properties of steel at different temperatures. Steel loses its magnetism at approximately 770°C (1418°F), which is known as the Curie temperature for iron...

Welding in a creased/angled sheet metal patch

I have held patches flat in the hole with rare earth magnets. Tack two corners, then the bend, then the other two corers. Thats how I would patch it.
