    3020 LP starting questions again

    Our neighbor has a 4020 powershift that got to where it wouldn't crank. Finally noticed the shift lever wasn't always depressing the neutral safety start switch. No more problem after adjusting the switch.

    Wico Model C mag

    IF your C mag has the kill wire option, could it be shorting out? Does the armature still have magnetism? Can you get a spark directly out of the top (coil) nipple; leaving the small cap off for a test? Does the impulse have good strong snap? M.

    JD 1020 carb. issue

    IF your carburetor is clean inside, including the passages, the 12v "pc" solenoid should be diagnosed. If you can hear it click when the ignition is turned on, chances are it is working. However, that doesn't mean that the quill needle inside is retracting away from the main fuel jet enough to...

    John Deere 435

    I've had two 435's, mainly because I'm an old Detroit Diesel guy. I think the exhaust would be somewhat quieter with the oval muffler instead of the round one. Also, 435's don't start well in cold weather. Replace a 430 gas with a 435? Do what you want, to enjoy the hobby!
