    Waterloo Boy R project

Second that! Love to hear the story of finding an old gem like that. If Kenny doesn't know where something's at...I'm not sure who would.

    8110 vs 7820

The 8x10's have proven to be the most reliable of the 8000-series. PQ vs AQ transmissions is really just a matter of preference. Reliability is about the same.

how to repair pin hole in 2510 diesel fuel tank??

The tank on my 420 had what appeared to be JBWeld and bondo under some paint. Of course it started leaking like a screen door. I got a liner kit from Northern Auto that did an outstanding job so far. First try sealed every leak. Now, there were no visible holes, but it looked like the JBWeld...

    outrageious prices

Was that just for the temp sensor or was it also to service the DPF?

    2640 Oil

I just did the same on my "new" one today as well. 9 qts on the 2640. Now, the OM calls for SAE30 above 32 and 10W20 TorqGard or regular 10W30 from -10 to 32. I talked it over with the old guy in the shop at the local dealer and they"ve been using 15W40 in them forever now.

oil for 1957 420, hydraulic lift,

My "57 420 leaks worse than a "74 Harley from the lever seals, thus I"m always adding oil to it. I just haven"t gotten around to overhauling it yet. Anyway, I think the manual says somewhere 5W20 is a suitable substitute so I"ve been using the left-overs from the truck. Works fine even though...

    2630 Slow 3 Point Lift

Sorry, but I don't have an electronic copy to post a pic at the moment, but there's a nut (hope that makes it past the filter) with a lock nut up under the seat, just in front of the seat frame mounting. Out is faster, in is slower.

    2630 Slow 3 Point Lift

The 40-series had a speed adjustment on it. Just a "small rod with threads that can be turned by a wrench" (I guess this filter won't let me post the technical term for such a part) you could turn in or out. Not sure about the 30's though.

    New deere 3038E tractor

The new model number scheme is the series/size - "3", followed by the 3-digit HP - "38", and the letter denotes the "trim" level of the tractor - how "fancy" it is. Kind of like "LS" and "LT" on Chevy's. Thus, the "3E" has a few more features than the "3D"

    john deere 110

Take a look in JDParts.com? The local auto parts store (NAPA here) might be a more cost effective solution though.

Early Unstyled A Shop/ Operators Manual

Did you look at the manuals here on YT? I got the OM for my '36 B here. I never did locate a service manual specific to it, but the closest I found was the SM2000 "Tractors and Engines, General". I also found that there are enough similarities with the later models that the service manual for...

Pros and cons of JD 2440 2640

Just bought me a "new" '81 2640 with a 145 loader last winter and I've been very pleased with it so far. Great running little tractor with plenty of power. Does great even with a good load in the loader. Of course, it also has a full set of wheel weights on the back. The only down side I...

Mounting more lights on a 8640, want to do it right !!

This might be an expensive solution...but I would recommend looking at some of the better LED lamps available. If you have ever operated HID lights and noticed the improvement over standard halogens, I can tell you that the good LEDs are an order of magnitude better than the HID's. It's...
