    This is what can happen if you tighten the hell out of the selector shaft nut !!! That shaft is alloy not steel.... There is a proccedure in the manual to align the gears back to the selector gear numbers, if you have messed with the metal cable that goes down to the transmission... Not that...

    I had simlar problem with slipping gear lever. All internals with cable etc were good. It maybe the gear selector shaft may need tightning.. Mine would just keep slipping. The attached pic shows what clamps the selector tight, so shifter does not slip... (thats the corrugated type washer) ...
