    JD 317 Hydro service

How do you change hydro oil in a 317 John Deere? I don't see a drain plug. I do see a large metal line that comes out of the bottom of the unit. Do you take that loose and drain it there or is there another way? Also the hydraulic levers seem "stuck". Do those valves get stuck inside or is...

My Apologies - Tractors to save

I had plans of taking and posting pics of JD tractors at a local S.C.R.A.P. yard today, but I can"t seem to get going yet. I had to start on insulin for my diabetes yesterday. Everything was great yesterday, but today I"m knocked down in the dirt trying to get it regulated. I"ll post pic"s as...

    Ferguson Mower Parts

Does anyone know where I can get parts for a Ferguson mower (Model# P5 EO 21) mounted to the side of a Ford 8N? I need a couple of parts made of cast, so that makes it even more difficult. I thought I would start looking by calling the local AGCO dealer, but they had no idea where to start looking.

    Original 1070 fuel tank

I have one that has just a 3" crack where previous owner backed into something and the 3pt top link got pushed into tank. I don't believe in the case recommended patch process. I have a friend that works for a PE pipe line supply company and he has an actual PE welder they use for things like...

    Chevy Truck Question

I have a 2002 Chevy 2500HD. It has a 6.0 engine. How do you make the "change oil soon" light go out? It"s driving me nuts. I don"t have a manual to look it up. Thanks.

Any Cowboy Action Shooters out there?

I have recently become facinated with this hobby. I live in central IN and hoping to go see a shoot or two. I have been looking at lever action rifles and was wondering what would be the best caliber to get. It has to fire a pistol round. I am thinking 44 mag or 45LC. I want to be able to...

    6030 pictures

I could use a couple pictures of a 6030 working in the field. I want to use them to make some custom decals for a toy pulling tractor I am building. Just email them to me. Thanks.

    2590 Pictures

I could use a couple pictures of a 2590 working in the field. Just send them via email. I am going to try to make decals out of them for a 1:16 scale toy pulling tractor I am building. Thanks in advance.

Massey Pullers in Indiana in 70's 80's Info Wanted

There was a Massey pulling tractor around back then called Sweet Sweet Music. Anybody know what model it was or who owned it? Pictures would be nice. The Roudebush family around Westfield had one but I think it was different. If anybody knows anything about this subject I would appreciate...

    Brinly Plow Mounting?

Just bought a Brinly moldboard plow at a sale today. How do I put this on my John Deere 317? It does not have a 3pt hitch.

    Agco Paint....again

Well I just used a new can of the White Combine Red. It is far better than the last one I used. It sprays a nice fine mist. I must have had an old can. I am in a lot better mood now than when I wrote the last post.

Agco Paint-Anybody else think it's crap?

Just some backgroud before I rant. I have a toy tractor workshop in my basement. It is colder down there than upstairs. I have more trouble with Agco brand spray paint than I do any other-cheap or expensive. The worst has been the White combine red. It sprays out in small globs instead of a...

    317 Drive Shaft

Price of new shaft at local Deere dealer yesterday $224. I didn't buy it.

    317 Drive Shaft

I suppose you all will be hearing a lot from me since I bought this 317. I'm usually on the Oliver board but can't afford an Oliver mower. Anyhow, what's involved in changing the u-joints and/or the entire drive shaft on a 317 mower? I'm talking about the main drive shaft from the engine to...
