    The tilt ram is likely to be either a bent rod or chrome damage. Both should be checked before re-sealing as new seals will be damaged straight away by damaged chrome and you'll never seal a bent rod. With the transmission, are you sure you haven't overfilled it? It takes a while for the oil...

    Do you hear any air hissing when you open the fuel filler cap? It sounds like the cap may not be venting the tank making a vacuum. Every time you open the cap to check the fuel you release it and fuel flows normally.

    If you fill the tank with fuel after you've changed the filters you should have enough head to bleed under gravity. Be sure to let the filters bleed before cranking to avoid losing prime in the injection pump. I don't think that pump's original.

    Use universal tractor transmission fluid UTTO. Traditionally it would have been SUTO 10/30 or 15/30, but due to the volumes produced SUTO is bizarrely now more expensive than UTTO - just don't put UTTO in the engine. I don't know whether the American SAE oils weightings differ from UK, but...

    Only the very last TEFs had a transfer pump, I've only ever seen one. The fuel usually flows under gravity. Check the fuel taps are on (there's another tap behind the filters on the reserve tank). Check for fuel at the filters - crack a banjo bolt on the inlet side then the outlet checking...
