Hi, I have a 3165 MF with loader and backhoe attachment. I'd like to isolate the backhoe attachment because it has too many leaks and I don't need it. The loader is fed from the pump and has its own return to the hydraulic oil tank. The backhoe is fed from the loader controls and the backhoe has it's own return to the hydraulic tank. My question is, can I just blank off the feed to the backhoe without any issues as the loader has its own circuit? And what thread would the plug be for the backhoe feed from the loader control? Any advice appreciated.

No you can't just blank it, there is a pressure feed through the loader spool to feed the backhoe. The easiest way would be to take the tank return off the backhoe spool block and connect it either to the pressure feed pipe, or back to the loader spool port from which the backhoe is fed. Alternatively you could remove the fitting from the loader block which feeds the backhoe, this will be a 'pressure beyond' adaptor with a tube and seal on the back, and fit a blanking plug. Then all excess flow will just return to tank.

Thanks for the reply. I will plug, number 35, the power beyond port. I just don't understand how if I plug that port it's different from blanking the backhoe feed hose?

I would have said that the carry over plug was 53, replace that with a blanking plug. I can't see the whole valve in that picture, and 3165 doesn't come up on the UK parts book system so I can't check it. I'm assuming that 53 is not a relief valve, in which case do not replace it! The carry over/pressure beyond plug looks like that, it picks up a pressure feed before the spools internally and normally has a fitting on the end which feeds the remote valve.
