1950 Ford F1 Pickup Oil Pressure

The Motor's Truck manual says the oil pressure relief is designed to open at 30 psi. Sounds like you are good.

1950 JD A - convert from magneto to distributor?

One advantage a mag has is you can turn off the fuel walk away and let the tractor run until it just quits. I have a JD mag in a box of part in my shop it has been surprising the number of people who have just picked it up and turned it like you would a regular distributor.

MF 65 power adjust rim replacement

I had to roast mine pretty good to get them working correctly on my 65 High Arch. I got them working too good now they do not want to stay tight. On my 65 standard I solved the issue with tires and rims from an AC K.

    Should I buy it?

The fix may cost some serious cash. If you have to finance a $2500 tractor this may not be the deal for you. However, the price is in the right range for a Super 90, cheap. That engine is known for head gasket issues, loss of the head gasket may also damage the block. There is a Massey...

4010 John Deere wont stay in high side gears

I expect it may not be going all the way in gear, just a guess. Try the John Deere board on This site all the smart JD guys hangout there.

    Rod bearing failure

It's hard to imagine in a cub engine but it looks like pre-detonation damage. Was there enough carbon present to cause the piston to strike the head. Maybe the oil pump was slow to prime during start-up. Carefully inspect crank pins and turn the engine over without plugs on start-up to ensure...

    Pressure brake bleeder

I have got them pretty hot and never had a seal failure. I use a small flame and just heat the bleeder then spray with PB Blaster. I usually do it a couple of times.

    winch

I had a marine battery in my race trailer that provided good service. I would just charge it every so often.

    New Addition

I just acquired a MF 65 gas in an online auction, picked it up last week. It is a very clean early model with power steering and good rubber. The grill screens and the pan in the front are dent free. It also has the starter wheel weight. The battery was dead, but it started right up with the...

    false advertising

AI will tell you an outright lie. A few days ago, there was a 49 Dodge truck in "Todays Truck" and I asked AI what motor it had. AI claimed it had either a 245 cubic inch slant six or a 318 V8, not possible. Most Dodge trucks of that vintage came with the 220 cubic inch flat head six. Just...

    Massey Harris 50

Buy it. The Massey Hariss 50 shares all the parts with the Massey Ferguson 50 except for the hood. Great little tractor most have a two-stage clutch for the PTO. It doesn't appear to have the remote hydraulic valve fitted, but they are available. There is great aftermarket part support, also...

    Grease

In 1970 the place I worked for tossed out a 10 pound can of Standard Oil wheel bearing grease because it wasn't full and the can was beat up. I fished it out of the trash skimmed off the top layer and have been packing wheel bearing with it ever since. It's a long fiber heavy grease and yes, I...

Hydraulic Whine In Int 544 Utility

On my Farmall 656 you can remove the cover to replace the filter and just lose a small amount of fluid. My 656 wines more than I would like when cold, the colder weather the louder the wine.

    Mf 1085

The previous owner may have run it with coolant in the oil which damaged the balancer bearing. Time for a new block, I think there may be a combine with a similar engine.

    Ford Tractor Identification

I think 3 and one half turns open on the load screw is too much. Try 1 turn.
