    4430 AC upgrade

I appreciate everyone's response. The high side has always run a little higher than what I'd like thus the reason for wanting to change the condenser. That's always been with a rebuilt A6 compressor from my local auto part stores. I've always been resistant to change the compressor to Sanden...

    4430 AC upgrade

Due to having to replace rebuilt compressors twice in the last 6-7 years, I'm looking into upgrading the AC on my 4430 and have a few questions that I'm hoping some of you can answer. I'm considering changing the compressor from the original A6 Delco style to a Sanden compressor. Is there...

    8N Distributor parts?

I appreciate everyone's input and advice. In case anyone is interested I thought I'd post the results of what I did. To start with it seems an online mystery as to what size drill to use to drill out the original rivets on the side mount 8N distributor. After carefully removing the rivets, I...

1530 rocker arm shaft end plug installation?

What's the best way to install new rocker arm rod end shaft plugs? I tried using a hammer and a socket that fit the ID of the plug and ended up destroying the plug. Do I need to use my shop press to press them in?

    8N Distributor parts?

I am in the process of replacing the bushing on my 8N side mount distributor. I've ordered a new bushing from YT but can't find a source for the rivets/ pins that I drilled out of the drive gear and sleeve. Can anyone tell me where to order them from?

most years of continueous operating one model of tractor.

Found a couple of pictures of the JD1530 I mentioned above. The first picture was taken a few weeks ago. I mounted a toolbox that I acquired last year when I traded tractors. The second picture is of me in 1983 checking the coolant level. Man time flies by.

most years of continueous operating one model of tractor.

I have a 1949 Case SC that's been in the family since new. My dad's family owned the Case dealership and this tractor was brought home from the dealership and has never been sold. I use it for light work around the farm and wouldn't necessarily say that I depend on it. I find light chores and...

    1530 Tractor Fan Belt Replacement

Changing the fan belt really isn't all that bad of a job. The belt tensioner is on the alternator. You have to thread the belt over the radiator fan one blade at a time. The fan does not have to be removed. It's a good idea to check you water pump bearing while doing this. See if there's a...

    1530 water pump rebuild

I'm in the process of rebuilding the water pump on my 1530. The bearing and seals are trashed and I can't tell how the rubber and ceramic seal orients to the impeller. Does the ceramic or rubber seal go immediately next to the impeller?

    deer meat?Your 02 cents?

Beef. It's what's for dinner. That's my houses' motto. I've always said the if vineson was all that good, people would pen them up and grocery stores would sell it in their meat departments. The only good vineson I've eaten has been mixed with pork or seasoned to the point in which you couldn't...

    5100M ground speed sensor

Thanks Jim but unfortunately my tractor is the newer final tier 4 emission version and it doesn't have the sensor you found. You got my hopes up and as soon as I saw your post, I went to look at the tractor. Just as my luck would run I'm just a few months out of warranty. I appreciate you...

    5100M ground speed sensor

Can anyone tell me the location of the ground speed sensor on a John Deere 5100M? The JD parts.com website only calls out "sensor" for all sensors with no detail as to what Any of the sensors do. I called my local JD dealership's parts department and the salesman couldn't find it. He put me on...

    4430 AC kit

Thanks to everyone who replied with advice. I'll call AP tomorrow and locate the nearest dealer to me. I plan to replace all the lines at the same time and want this to be as much of a "one time and done" repair as possible. I despise having to revisit the same repair multiple times before...

    Case sc

While you had the carb apart did you check to see if the float had a hole in it? You can take the float out and shake it gently and feel or hear fuel slosh around inside it. Even better, try to submerse the float in a bowl of gas if you see bubbles surface you have a hole in it.

    4430 AC kit

Looks like there's three options. 1) A6 compressor which appears to be close to OEM. 2) Sanden and 3) Delco A6. Any suggestions on which gives the best cooling performance and has good durability?
