    MF 150 steering

Seems that i'm talking to myself on this forum.. Well ok, i'll continue the conversation. This morning I went to an equipment dealer to see if he had a 150 I could look at. He had 3. Turns out that 2 of the three have the same problem as mine - The steering cuts the wheels move further in one...

    MF 150 steering

To clarify my my question. Currently the position of the steering arm (where the drag link bolt threads in) is pretty much down the center of the tractor with steering wheels turned MAX RIGHT. Gut reaction is the arm/drag link should e in the center position with wheels pointed straight ahead.

    MF 150 steering

With the front wheels pointed straight ahead, where should the steering arm be pointed?. This would be the the arm that the drag link screws into. The arm is not keyed. Thanks in advance.

    MF 231 injection pump problem

Roy G - i'm no where near the mechanic you are but try taking off the output line on that new fuel lft pump and make sure it's pumping out enough fuel. I have had problems with new ones.

    MF 150 versus Mf 165

My 150 has 14.9x28 rears and the traction is close to Dads 265 it seems. His 265 really doesn"t use a lot more fuel unless we pull a sub-soiler. They are both fuel misers. The four cylinder runs a little smoother.

    MF 150 steering arm remova'l

Update: Finally got it off. A combination of the pedestal shaft lifting and jacking one front axle gave enough clearance.

    MF 150 steering arm remova'l

Sorry about that no errors and no photos. It looks to me like my easiest solution is to lllft up the power steering cylinder assembly a couple of inches. Is that a reasonable solution based on what little info you have?.

    MF 150 steering arm remova'l

Sam, it went up about .5 inch and still needs a good inch to clear. I used a small bottle jack with appropriate size deep socket and stopped when the shaft quit moving up. My manual only shows a pedestal shaft for a 165 - but it does show it going out from the topp. Forty years of crud holding...

    MF 150 steering arm remova'l

Trying to take off the steering arm that attaches to the splined shaft at the base of power steering cylinder. Got it loose but not enough clearance to drop it down over the main axle. It also appears that the splined shaft will prevent removal of the main axle member from being removed by...

    Not a good day!

Danny P, I can connect with your woes. Last Thursday I was coming from bushhoging with an ih424 when it died (cause undiagnosed as yet). Called my son and we were pulling the the broke one back with the mf150 when the steering on it broke. The inner tie rod that connects to the steering arm...

PTO shifting to high rpm or low rpm

As Gearhead210 said the pto downward is tranny pto and all the way up is engine driven pto. In between is neutral (no pto). The clutch pedal must e pushed all the way to the bottom to engage the engine pto.

    44 Trasmission Bearing Cage Leak

I have used hylomarn in similar situations and like it a lot. It comes out of the tube very thin but let it dry for 10 minutes before installing the part and it semi-solidifies to form an effective seal. First you must degrease the surface with brake cleaner or another solvent.
