    Gehl Mixer grinder #65

No need to apologize. It's an early Gehl thing. I found one advantage it had was in grinding hay. The big blower would pull the ground hay through the mill very well. I never ground wet ear corn with it but the tube coming out of the blower was dented up pretty good (bought it used) as the tube...

    Gehl Mixer grinder #65

On a Gehl 65 there IS NO auger that takes the ground grain from the mill to the mixer. It all goes through the fan and dust collector. That is why the dust collector is very large compared to a newer grinder mixer. I would guess that the problem is in the fan if the tubes to and from the dust...

Anyone out there using Chinese tractor tires?

I put Samson 11L-15 Tri-Ribs on my 2-105 about 5 years ago and they are holding up well. Just replaced a set of 10:00-16's and wanted Firestone's and the dealer said they were now Regency. They look fine-time will tell. Only use Firestone or Titan for rear tires.

    MM Hydraulic Fluid

Newer style (type 55 or universal trans-hydraulic type fluids) were not used by MM until the closed center hydraulic systems were introduced in the G-1000 Vista. Operator manual supplements state to NOT use the older style hydraulic oil. I don't know why the original poster wants to know what...

    MM Hydraulic Fluid

Closest available fluid to the Type A Transmission fluid that was used then is dexron III. I still use it in one of my U-302's.

    M670lp crank, no start

Sorry for the confusion. Vent is on tractors with Century systems which replaced Ensign on the later tractors. M-670 stayed with Ensign which is a good system but much more complicated. My problem with the vent was on a U-302. It is located on the front of the vaporizer (threaded hole in the...

    M670lp crank, no start

This may sound stupid but check to see if the vent on the vaporizer is open. I had an insect build a mud nest in the vent tube on the vaporizer once after the tractor had been sitting for a few days and it wouldn't start. Mechanic told me to check the vent and it was plugged. Cleaned it out and...

    Mounted corn pickers

One other issue with mud was the front tires. On the JD we would change the tricycle front wheels to a single front wheel which made a huge difference in plugging with mud. It was easy to do with the 630 as it just took 4 cap screws to change the front ends.

    Mounted corn pickers

Really not that bad of a job IF you blocked the picker carefully when you took it off. Have had an AC picker on a WC ALLIS. It was the easiest to mount as we just reversed the rear wheels and backed over the picker with the elevator attached. Hooked up the PTO and brackets and the put the center...

    Early production anomalies

Thanks for the info. I always wondered what WICO stood for.

    White 2-150 Production

Different Serial Numbering system than MM used as these were built in Charles City using their numbering system. You can't just subtract yearly beginning numbers like you could with MM and others systems. No way they built anywhere close to 7000 of them !

    Steering hose blew

Agree that hose will work fine. Replaced them on my G-955 several years ago. Much easier to install.
