A question with never the same answer for enybody and eve...

rich, what you say is true. Back in the day I ran A's, 50,60, & 70/720 diesels. Mostly green now, but deere was really overdue in moving to 4/6 engines, just like they were 30 yrs late in going to rotary binders.

    815 V8 motor

my mistake! The 304/345 gas were V-8. Wasn't thinking too clearly. Had trucks with both, but never saw one in the combine.

    815 V8 motor

The 815 combine never came with a V-8. They came with either 304/345 gas or 407/414 diesel. The ones I had were 414 diesels.

    I screwed up again...help!

    With #1 @ TDC on compression, adjust 1, 2, 3, & 5. Rotate 360 degrees, then adjust 4, 6, 7, & 8.

Explain top vs. full cut tires

SuperH, 71/2 & 12 mph classes full cuts are a must. Never seen full cuts alowed in 3 mph class, but I don't think they'd help there.

    D-19 turbo charged whining

Jim, As JHH said the D19 diesel was factory turboed 1961-1964, probably too new for some clubs.
