    706 Farmall

Glad it’s working for you. The transmission brake, I like to adjust it with the engine running below 1200 rpm’s, when you push the clutch pedal down then count 3 seconds and now you should be able to shift the transmission into gear with hardly any gear clash

IH 706 TA stuck - Tricks for getting it free? Serial: 43727 S-Y

If you unhook the linkage at the spool valve, you can’t move it up or down???. If you can’t move it then remove the retaining nut . It has two flat sides to turn it . The spool valve is two piece maybe the pin that connects the two pieces is broken and has the spool jammed up

She's going to be a hot one

Love your ole time stories. I’ve got lots also but yours go back a few more years. Have seen some crazy stuff over the years. Talk about the snow blower, I’ve got A 1970 cub cadet walk behind, 826 blower. ( the only 826 I can afford ). It didn’t want to blow wet snow either, the chute would...

She's going to be a hot one

Yes it is hot, finally…sure has been a cold wet spring here. Now we will hear all about global warming again, again, and again. Told myself I ain’t working on anything this week so I went on a 100 mile trip and brought home a cub cadet 782 to go along with original, 102, 125, 127, 129, 149, 1450.

    Oil pressure issues IH350U

What about the oil pressure regulator spring and spool inside the oil pump?? On these old engines, when I rebuild them I usually throw a couple of small washers in the spool to beef up the spring pressure. All oil gallies were cleaned out??

    Farmall 504D fuel tank rust

Depends on size of tank, guessing your tank would be $250- $300

    706 Farmall

First off, to adjust the clutch, free play should be about one inch. Only resistance on the pedal should be the return spring. The dump valve is operated by the clutch link. There will be a long 1/4 bolt with a turnbuckle hooked to the dump valve. I like to adjust them so with the clutch pedal...

    Farmall 504D fuel tank rust

Have heard of lots of different ways to clean a tank. Some guys have put a bunch of small stones in the tank and mount it to a rear tractor wheel, jack it up and put it in gear and let it turn until clean. I take the tank off and send it to gas tank renu here in Michigan, they are very good and...

    International 856D oil leaks

Need to be more specific. Oil coming from around pto??? Very unusual for pto gasket to leak. Are you sure the oil isn’t coming from under the seat where the auxiliary valves are

    Deck wash port on mowers

Never used it on my cub cadets. Air only, water and bearings don’t like each other. If the deck is that plugged, scrape it

Farmall C jumping timing under load

Had this happen to a farmall A. It would jump timing. The slotted pieces from the governor to the distributor drive would jump. To make sure this was happening while I had the distributor removed I put paint marks on two slots that matted together. Start the tractor, warm it up and engage the...

    1086 air-conditioning

Can’t see it making much difference on the 86 series tractors but might be a good idea on the 88 series. The condenser is mounted in the upper part of the radiator and oil cooler in the lower but on the 88 series the condenser is mounted in the lower part of the radiators and oil cooler is in...
