Early 8n rear tires for snow backblading

Chains are an absolute must. weight is good, it will help. once ice forms on the ground, you'll sit and spin without chains. With any kind of incline you wont be able to go up it without chains. Got 25 years experience pushing snow in WI with an 8N. oversized tires wont gain you anything.

    Vertical Exhaust

If you drive in the woods, you don't want vertical. hurts when the branches snap by the pipe. Trust me.

1949 8n ford startup after sitting for 30 plus years

No, cranks like every 6 volt tractor. I've had it for 30 years, first one I ever bought, and is still my favorite go to tractor. usually takes about 2 seconds to start. First start of the spring, 3-4 seconds.

1949 8n ford startup after sitting for 30 plus years

I have a 49 8N, 6 volt, and yup it cranks slow, but it always starts. Lots of good advice here, also, is your fuel on? Float bowl full? Key on? Seems simple but easy to overlook when your thinking about everything else you've worked on.

    rototiller

Yes and no. I have a 49N, on soft tilled ground with out a lot of rocks it will work, in first gear and 3/4 throttle. The first time I tilled the field for the garden, pretty rough and had to go over it several times. Now that I have a Kubota with hydrostatic tranny, I can go as slow as I want...

    8N on TV

Have you ever seen a movie called "Motel Hell"? The farmers use a 8N to pull "vegetables" from the ground when they're ready. Weird Movie, came out in 1980.

    zane/adjustment of 100 series lift

Ordered a kit from Zane for adjusting the lift on my 600 series years ago. Finally got to it this fall, all the control was in the last 2 inches of the arm. Found the cam follower pin was completely cut through. Followed Zanes instructions, made the adjustments with the wood feeler gauge, used...

Old smaller tractor for small brush hog

I disagree. My A/C B with a woods 59l belly mower works great and discharges to the right. As long as all the parts are there, works good.

    WEIRD ATTACHMENTS

I got one of those when I bought an A/C B. Tried it once, works great, haven't touched it in 10 years, too scary.
