    John Deere Parts

I guess we should be glad that parts for a 47 year old tractor are still available from the manufacturer. Try that with a Ford or Chevy.

First Gear to Break on 1937 John Deere B? (unstyled)

Doubt if it is the reduction gear. They usually run for a long time. I broke one on my pulling G one day and part of it came fling out the top of the reduction cover but that is way more hp than that stock B is potting out. More than likely the overdrive gear in the picture. Every gear drives...

    Ih 706 tractor pulling speed

Been to a lot of pulls. Always interesting to watch the new guys pull. They usually think they have all the power to win but find out as soon as they start to move the sled it is a dead horse they are working with.

John Deere A vs. G. differences

A G has a lot tougher transmission than the A. A pullers are good for up to about 4500 lbs. After that it's a ticking time bomb. G's can go to 7500-8500 with no problems. There is more room to make a G bigger cubes than an A if it is a puller you're thinking of. My 940 cube G pulling this winter.

1952 John Deere Model 60 Crankshaft

It's a boat anchor now. Run it some more and it will get real spendy when it separates. Do you know how much stroke was added? We can probably come up with a fresh welded up one for you if you're interested in going that route. What are you using it for? Pulling or just a little more power...

    trailer tires

We went to Firestone TransForce years ago. Load range E. Haven't had trouble with them blowing out. We get used ones from a tire dealer here in town so have been running them for years.

    Parts Cleaner Sovent

I found kerosine works pretty good. Way better than deisel. Spray it down with some brake cleaner when done washing it and it is pretty much bare metal.

    D17 stroker build

Building a puller and getting years of reliability are 2 different things.

John Deere 70 Diesel pony motor

You say you put power to the coils, did you try jump starting it with 12 volts or use a 12 volt battery? Those coils are 6 volts only and will fry in an instant.
