When To Plow Under The Garden

I've done a search and I haven't yet found the answer to this question. When should I plow under my garden? This fall before the ground freezes or leave it exposed all winter and plow it under in the spring once the ground dries up a bit? Garden is in N Colorado at 5300ft. Thanks.

    8N Carb

Nothing wrong with doing it yourself but for my money I would send the carb to Gary (GB in MT) and have him do it. Best money I've spent in a long, long time. If Santa gets my letter this year, he'll bring me another carb attached to an 8N, or another Ford (NAA, 600, 700, etc). Gary will get...

    Re : Dell: limiter chains

Dell, ordered mine last night. They'll be here Wednesday. I'm liking the idea of getting the weight of the mower off the hydraulics. Thanks for the Homer moment.

    Savvy, but Stupid

I did assume something. I assumed you told the whole story, including the end where you should have informed the manager of the oversight. As far as embarrassing the manager in front of the new employee, the manager should have embraced the opportunity as a teachable moment for the new...

    Savvy, but Stupid

I'm sorry but I have to say this. You stole the battery just as sure as you tucked it under your shirt and walked out with it. The rest of us pay for that battery in higher costs to cover the loss. You should have spoken up. Would have been the right thing to do. If my son did this, I'd...

    GB's carb shack......re-opening date

That stinks Gary. Sorry to hear about those who are taking advantage of your good nature. Sending you my carb was one of the best decisions I've made in a long time. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. I like to think the good guys still outnumber the bad guys.....at least for a little while...

    OT Ed S. Ford 300ci 6 cyl

The 300ci was the best! I bought a '78FordF100 pickup with the 300ci eng in Jan 81' Clovis, NM (Cannon AFB). Snapped off the wing nut in the air filter and the rest of the threaded rod dropped down the single barrel carb. I could see it resting on the butterfly at the bottom of the carb. Too...

    rock picker

I like the honey wagon idea from Kornfused but I've always been told to keep dirt out of the spreader 'cause it's too heavy for the chain. As you all know them chains/conveyors are not cheap!

    No Compression on Any Cylinder

Broken camshaft? Leaves one of the valves open in all cylinders but crank still turns. Screwdriver may not reach piston on up stroke.

    For...Chad M....Sam T...&..Duane L

Gary, your bench is so neat and clean I wonder if you might have been a surgeon in an earlier life. My bench starts out fairly clean and neat but by the end it looks like a train wreck. LOL

Got my carb back from GB in MT

Gary is the bomb!! I put my carb back on my '48 8N without touching a thing and it still runs like a champ. I am so glad I sent my carb to Gary! I'd do it again in a heartbeat. If Santa Claus gets my letter this year and he brings me another 8N or a Jubilee(!), I'll send him that one also!
