rock picker

John........no powered rock picker that I know about. (frown)
Landscape rake, also know as York rake. Gaps between flat-blade teeth of about 1-1/2". ......Dell

I've found a lot more rocks that I didn't know were there since I now have two inches of blade sticking out below my box end plates. A rock collector would be a good thing.

Formerly it used to go smoothly over the dirt and not unearth the rocks that I didn't know where there. Well, at least I have a front bucket to throw them into but 63 years old is just to darned old to be climbing up and down off that tractor a lot.

If you have the resources, I have an idea. Take an old honey wagon (manure spreader) and drop the conveyor down with a scoop to pick up the dirt. Put a screen at the back of the conveyor. Hence you drive (very slowly) dirt is picked up, travels along conveyor where it is deposited on a screen which allows the dirt to fall out the backside and rocks/stones accumulate on the screen.

I like the honey wagon idea from Kornfused but I've always been told to keep dirt out of the spreader 'cause it's too heavy for the chain. As you all know them chains/conveyors are not cheap!

(quoted from post at 10:57:24 04/22/10) Is there an implement that an 8N will pull to pick up rocks, small to med size (none over 8lbs.)?

We use a Rock Rale to windrow the rocks. Looks like a really strong PTO hay rake. Then we pick up the windrow with a rock bucket. A small 6 ft rock rake need about 60HP to operate so You don"t need to look for one for your N.

Big $$$$$ but check out market farm implement on the web. For the price I'll just deal with the rocks but would love to have one. Good luck
