    To close out this topic with the final results... an oring in the MCV was damaged (my bet is improper installation) which fed debris to the steering orbitrol. Debris caused that to malfunction. Disassembled and cleaned and rebuilt both MCV and orbitrol. Steering works as it should now.

    That was one heck of a good price. I would have jumped on that for just new hoses. Being in the heart of the oil field, we have a TON of hydraulic shops in the area. Hoses are easy and cheap to get. :)
