    Well, it looks like mine does not have a filter under the dash. The oil for the pump is what I’m trying to check/change. Would that be the check plug at the back of the tractor? I checked the one under the clutch pedal.

    It's a gas engine. Thanks for all the help. Time to order oils and filters. Do I need to do anything more than just drain all the old hydraulic oil out and refill? Didn't know if the old stuff had to be flushed out. I know there will some left over mixed in with the new.

    Thanks. I hope I can find a cheaper version of the Hy-Tran. And locate the filter to see which one I need to order. I don’t even know where it is located. Is there more than one filter if I don’t have a front pump for a loader and no rear hookups?

    It’s the gas version. I’ll get photos tomorrow. I assume it’s the drive. It’ll grind a few times and then finally grab and crank the tractor. I don’t know what the ring gear is.

    Hello experts. Is there any tricks to replacing the starter drive on an IH 2424? I’ve never done and I know it has a strong spring involved. I don’t want things to go flying when I take it apart or find out I need some kind compression tool or something. Thanks in advance!
