Farmall H with magneto- 12v conversion

I've been using an H with the 6v positive ground wiring it was built with. It has a magneto as well. I want to avoid buying 6v batteries just for this, so I want to put a 12v negative ground battery in. Can I do this without hurting the generator and voltage regulator? All I need the battery for...

    Mold on shingles

I'm thinking the black air vents are aluminum. They could be painted galvanized, not sure. Whatever the metal, it kills black mold.

    Clutch smoke on my B

Ok I will check that too again. I do remember making sure I could spin the pulley without rubbing on the shield. But anything is possible. Something to do this weekend.

    Clutch smoke on my B

Mike that shield was kind of tore up on my tractor. I cleaned it up and put it back. I'm sure it's on the right way not sure why it wouldn't be centered.

    Clutch smoke on my B

Ok I'll have to take the clutch apart. It does get hot within a few minutes of engaging it. When I engage it and put the tractor in gear it moves just fine forward and backwards. I haven't driven it as I'm still working out the bugs.

    Clutch smoke on my B

Trying to see what is causing the white smoke around the pulley/clutch. I just started the tractor for the first time after a rebuild. The motor had new rings, rebuilt head. All clutch parts are new. I replaced almost everything. It seems it only smokes when I engage the clutch and after about...

    Gm battery cable

I have a 1946 GM. I purchase the original battery box that goes in front of the motor. My question is this: does the cable from the battery to the starter go along side the block and behind the flywheel or does it go up and along the inside of the hood and back out to the starter? Thanks for...

    JD D Radiator bolts

I should have said just use a propane torch and the wax. You won't hurt anything. Muffler guys use the wax to unstick rusted bye and it works great.

    JD D Radiator bolts

When I did my B I heated the bolts with a torch and then put candle wax up against the bolt. As it melts it will get pulled in and the bolt came out easy. You may have to repeat the step on really stubborn bolts.
